Jervis Bay Community & Sports Club Limited (JBCSC) is the community-centric enterprise responsible for ensuring that Vincentia Golf Club (VGC) course and club facilities are preserved and progressively enhanced as a community recreation and hospitality venue through de-amalgamation from the St Georges Basin Country Club (SGBCC).

To develop a thriving, inclusive hub for golf, sport, leisure, and community connection in Jervis Bay, while preserving important green space - a haven for Shoalhaven flora and fauna - for future generations.

Background

In early September 2024 the community came together and formed the Vincentia Golf Working Group to represent the future needs and interests of Vincentia Golf Club members and guests. Comprising representatives from VRRA, Vincentia Matters and FoVGC, the three Vincentia golf sub-clubs, residents and other community members the Working Group has provided a collective voice in liaising with the St Georges Basin Country Club.

To provide a clearer focus on the work ahead, the Vincentia Golf Working Group established a small Project Team leveraging the diverse skills and experiences within the community. This team, led by Tom Karp, includes Stephanie Pursley, Graeme Lawless, Craig Hatton, Graeme Thompson, Lyn Hay, and John Dyball. The team is exploring and assessing all potential options to identify the best pathway for revitalising a sustainable sports and community club at the Vincentia golf precinct, whether through merging with another club or establishing a new registered club. The Project Team is the precursor to Jervis Bay Community & Sports Club.

Meet our Directors

Our Directors, with their extensive collective experience, knowledge and skills will guide JBCSC in a positive and meaningful direction to best meet the needs of members, the Bay & Basin community, and valued guests.

Director and Chair

Craig Hatton

Craig has resided in Vincentia for 54 years. He is a Company Director and SME Business owner with over 40 years in the glass and glazing industry. He has been involved with the Vincentia Golf Club since the age of 6. He is an enthusiastic, hard worker, and an active sports person with a strong sense of community. Craig is also a member of the Vincentia Ratepayers and Residents Association (VRRA).

Director and Secretary

John Clark

John has lived in the Bay and Basin area for 12 years and been a VGC Member for 7 years. He holds Economics and Business Administration degrees, and has 30 years business and technology management experience with AGL, Lend Lease, and the CSIRO, along with 10 years undertaking venture development and consulting, and voluntary roles as Treasurer of Gymnastics Albury Wodonga Club, Chair of Repower Shoalhaven, and Committee Member of Clifton Community Food Gardens.

Director

Alan Moore

Alan has lived in Jervis Bay for 40 years, where he and his partner, Simone, have raised their family. He recently retired from a career as a Heavy Marine Fitter and Turner, Helicopter Mechanic and, most recently, Navy pilot and Officer. Alan is passionate about maintaining the unique village and community atmosphere of our region. He is an enthusiastic learner golfer who mixes his golf with walking on the beautiful Vincentia Golf Course. Alan is currently an ASIC accredited Director and Secretary of another Australian business.

Kathy Godwin

Kathy has resided in Vincentia for over 36 years. She is a passionate advocate for community health and well-being, having worked in the Healthcare space for over 40 years as an Emergency Clinician, General
Practice Nurse Specialist, UOW Academic & Researcher, and as a Primary Health Care Consultant, including strategic, clinical and business & infrastructure development. As an APNA Board Director & member, Kathy provided National policy consultation, publications, conferences & education. Kathy
has worked with groups (including DVA, Kidney Health Australia, Dept of Health, & Royal Australian College of General Practitioners) developing professional standards for nurses, midwives & GPs.

Our Constitution

Jervis Bay Community & Sports Club Limited is a public company limited by guarantee. Our constitution has effect as a legal contract between the Club and each member; between the Club and each director and the CEO; and between each member and each other member.
